You need to collect sticks and wards regularly.

4. mid game

The first artifacts in the mid game are arcana and DB, so you can fully procast in future battles. You can also start farming the jungle with the help of a totem and lasso. At the middle stage of the game, it’s worth moving on to roaming and ganking, and farming the jungle on the database. Refresh wards regularly, and if the heroes are invisibility, you need to think about regular sentries.

5. game over

After the collected database, we move on to the late game and here we need a daedalus, it will greatly increase the damage from the totem. And at this stage of the game it is worth running around the map and trying to catch lone weak Persians in order to destroy them with your totem.

7. a few words from a 9000k mmr player

Raigor Stonehoof, the Earthshaker

Like a golem or gargoyle, Earthshaker was one with the earth but now walks freely upon it. Unlike those other entities, he created himself through an act of will, and serves no other master. In restless slumbers, encased in a deep seam of stone, he became aware of the life drifting freely above him. He grew curious.

During a season of tremors, the peaks of Nishai shook themselves loose of avalanches, shifting the course of rivers and turning shallow valleys into bottomless chasms. When the land finally ceased quaking, Earthshaker stepped from the settling dust, tossing aside massive boulders as if throwing off a light blanket.

He had shaped himself in the image of a mortal beast, and named himself Raigor Stonehoof. He bleeds now, and breathes, and therefore he can die. But his spirit is still that of the earth; he carries its power in the magical totem that never leaves him. And on the day he returns to dust, the earth will greet him as a prodigal son.

Dota 2 — Earthshaker Hero Guide

EarthshakerGuides Aftershock Kits

is a fairly versatile hero, able to stand on different lanes and who can easily fit into the roster of almost any team. The hero has a very good set of skills with which the hero will be relevant at all stages of the game. The article will mainly use the abbreviated name of the hero «Shaker».

— this Shaker’s skill is the main one, which largely determines the success of a gank or a regular attack on the lane. The fact is that the skill has a very good range (1400), deals good damage and even stuns for almost 2 seconds (at the maximum level). With all this, the skill creates a long furrow (an impenetrable barrier) through which you can only pass using special skills. Thus, one successful use of the skill can create such a situation that the enemy simply cannot run back, since the path to retreat will be cut off. The use of the skill has some animation, which in turn creates a big problem in the accuracy of use. That is, you need to hit the skill in such a way as to deal damage, stun the target and at the same time create a furrow behind the enemy. One small miss, on the contrary, can create such a situation that you will deal damage and even stun the enemy, but he will be on the other side of the furrow and, at the end of the stun, will simply run back. The disadvantages of the skill include a fairly large mana consumption, which Shaker does not have much of. Still, this is a hero with the main characteristic «strength». Ordinary creeps from the lane, having met an obstacle created by the skill, will try to run around it, but neutral monsters in the forest will simply run up to it and wait until the wall disappears. The skill does not deal damage or stun enemies with magic immunity, but they still cannot pass through the barrier.

— in general, the skill is quite good, since you can not only increase the damage of your next attack, but also activate the passive. The skill itself has a very low cooldown and costs very little mana. This skill is usually maxed last, but in some variants it can be maxed right after . Note that the bonus damage is calculated from the Shaker’s base attack and strength. If you buy some kind of artifact for damage, then by itself you will not get 500% attack. Likewise, bonus damage will not count if you use a double damage rune. Only basic attack and hero power are always considered. The effect of the skill, i.e. the 14 second charge of the totem, can be dispelled with a cleanse. The skill can be upgraded with an artifact. In this case, the spell is not used instantly, but you choose the place to use the skill and the Shaker jumps there. Thus, there is an additional way to jump on enemies, overcoming any obstacle. It’s worth saying right away that the Shaker does not jump instantly, that is, such a jump cannot exactly replace the instant work of Dagger. In general, the improvement is of course interesting, but it is used only in certain situations.

Good allies will be heroes that are able to deal good damage during the duration of stuns from Shaker’s skills. For example, heroes such as:,, or are perfect for a team. Shaker can also be a good solution if your team clearly lacks control and most of the allies just deal good damage, but do not have the ability to somehow slow down the enemy.

Given the good potential for initiating battles, Shaker will also pair well with other initiators such as: , , , , or .

Definitely worth mentioning is that Shaker is able to deal massive damage to heroes that summon illusions, since the ult will work on illusions too. Thus, the Shaker will be extremely effective against such heroes as:, or. Shaker will also deal very well with heroes who summon various creatures, for example: , , or .

First of all, it is worth noting that Shaker during any battle primarily relies on the use of his skills, and if for some reason he cannot use his abilities, then he will be of little use. Thus, heroes with different control and especially heroes with silence (a ban on the use of skills) will pose the greatest danger. In other words, you should avoid meeting with such heroes as:,, and.

Separately, it is worth noting the hero. The fact is that Rubik can steal the skills of enemies and use them without any long animation. Thus, the stolen skill in the hands of Rubik will be simply deadly. And of course, Rubik can steal an ult and immediately use it against your team. It is also worth mentioning the hero separately. The fact is that Shaker’s skills (except for the ult) have a long usage animation, and if Clock runs up to you with the skill turned on, then you simply cannot do anything.

Initial purchase

First of all, it is worth remembering that the Shaker is a support (an exception is a difficult lane) and if there is no one in your team to buy a courier, then it is you who should do it. The same goes for wards with other consumables. In other words, the first in priority are: , and Smoke of Deceit. In addition to the main items for a support, you should definitely take into account the fact that the Shaker has the main characteristic «strength» and therefore you should not count on a normal mana regen. In addition, the main skill, namely, it consumes a lot of mana, so when you start buying, you should definitely take a few. In fact, one clarity is one use. It’s even better to save a little on consumables for health regen, but take an extra bottle for mana. Separately, I would like to note the position on the complex line. In some cases, Boots of Speed can be used in the initial purchase, as the extra movement speed can save more health than any healing consumable.

Main subjects

First, let’s look at the main items for the Shaker, which are bought in most cases and which will be most effective for this hero.

— a wand is a good starting item for most heroes, and Shaker is no exception. Due to this item, the Shaker has the opportunity to restore a small amount of health and mana, and sometimes this amount is enough to use it once again and change the course of the battle.

— throughout the game and especially at the beginning, Shaker is constantly experiencing difficulties with mana. These boots are the best option for a partial solution to this problem. In addition, these boots are a good team artifact.

— Force Staff is definitely worth mentioning among mobility items. Of course, he does not give such a good initiation as , but no one forbids you from using them in a combo. In addition to the ability to push allies or enemies, the artifact gives a bonus to intelligence, and therefore increases mana regen.

— a seemingly simple ring can be a good tool to start using more actively. Using the ring will cost health, but due to the good strength indicator and the regen bonus from the ring, the Shaker will quickly restore health and will not sag too much in health.

Situational Items

Veil of Discord — all Shaker’s skills deal AOE damage and trigger in a radius around the hero. Thus, with the help of Veil of Discord, you can increase their damage. Also, the increase in magical damage will allow your allies to also deal more damage with their abilities.

Boots of Travel — usually these boots are bought at the very end as a replacement for the current one. Increased movement speed and the ability to teleport quickly are more of a late game priority than mana regen, for example.

— usually a bottle is bought if you play as a Shaker on the central lane, but an artifact is also suitable if you constantly move between lanes. Also, a bottle can be a good solution if your midlaner does not have the ability to control runes well and you can periodically pick them up.

— this artifact is quite situational, but if used correctly, you will be able to quickly get close to enemies and use your ult more accurately. Artifact is only suitable for really aggressive play. An important advantage of the item is that it can be used both for defense and attack at the same time, but of course it is bought primarily for aggression.

— Refresher is definitely bought at the very end and only on condition that you already have the main items. The advantage of the Refresher is that, due to a good initiation, Shaker can not only recharge his ult, but generally recharge his entire combo of skills, since the enemies will be under constant stun.

— Glimmer simultaneously combines a good defensive artifact and an item with the ability to approach the enemy and engage in a profitable battle. In addition, invisibility can be used on your allies (for example, to save your carry).

— these boots are very often used by supports. It is worth noting here that it is best to use tranquilizers in combination with. Otherwise, there simply will not be mana to use skills. It makes sense to take these boots, for example, if you are going to actively move between lanes and help your allies kill enemies early in the game.

— Shiva is a good item against a lot of physical damage, and generally good for Shaker in certain situations. A good intelligence bonus will significantly increase the regen and maximum mana, and the ice ring will add control and AOE damage during the initiation of the fight.

— if the enemy team is clearly dominated by physical damage, or there are heroes that kill you faster than you can do anything, then Ghost Scepter can be a good solution. A few seconds is enough for Shaker to use all his skills.

Eul’s Scepter of Divinity — of the artifacts that give mobility Eul is perhaps the rarest, but still used. The item is well suited for the Shaker, who from the very beginning of the game begins to actively roam around the map and look for opportunities to kill.

— Octarine in general can fit perfectly into a Shaker build. the artifact gives a good increase in mana regen and maximum mana, which of course is very important for this hero. Also, by reducing the cooldown of skills, it will be possible to use abilities a little more often and, in general, play more aggressively.

Black King Bar — if the enemy team has a lot of control aimed at you (for example, silence or stun), then in this case it makes sense to think about buying BKB. The item will make it possible to ignore part of the control for some time and, in general, will noticeably increase the hero’s survivability.

Examples of consecutive purchases of items

For the remaining money, either take Smoke of Deceit, or , or add more.

Game start

If there is no need for Shiva, then the item can be replaced with .

Option 2

Shaker is a fairly versatile hero and can basically play on all lanes. The most common positions are the hard lane and the support role in the safe lane.

The main advantage of the Shaker in the lane is that he can block the path of his creeps with help and thereby create such a situation that the creeps meet near your tower. Thus, Shaker can safely gain experience and not risk his own life. If you are playing a hard lane against a trilane (3 enemies), then you will most likely have very little farming opportunity. At best, you can count on some finished creeps under the tower. You won’t be able to finish off the creeps in the lane, as the enemies will simply not let you get too close. The ability is also a good retreat tool. That is, you can not only stupidly use the skill directly at enemies and stun them, but also block the path and opponents will not be able to pursue you. The main advantage of the lane is that here Shaker has the opportunity to gain a lot of experience and quickly level up his abilities. If you come across a very aggressive trilane, and the enemies constantly make good pulls and the creeps simply do not reach you, then in this case you should not stay in the lane for too long. Closer to level 6-7, for example, you can try to gank the central lane. In this case, one successful use will be enough to block the enemy’s path to the tower and your midlaner will calmly kill the enemy, provided of course that the enemy does not have any jumps or other abilities to overcome the obstacle. If there is only one enemy on the lane against you, and even with a melee attack, then in this case you can count on a good farm. In general, Shaker can stand well against melee heroes. Any aggression of the enemy can be answered with blows or, as a last resort, used. Most often, it is much more profitable for Shaker to block creeps at the expense of his own carcass than to take risks and climb forward in order to farm.

In general, Shaker can even stand on the mid lane, but here it is immediately worth noting that normally Shaker can only play against melee heroes. Against aggressive mid-laners with a long-range attack, it is better not to use the Shaker. Due to the constant harassment, you will not be able to farm properly and the whole point of standing in the center will be lost. The mid lane gives a good opportunity to get a lot of farm and experience, but once again, this will only be possible against some melee players (for example). In terms of rune control, Shaker is certainly not the best hero, but he can still block the path of the enemy. If you play carefully, use wards and keep an eye on the map, then it will be extremely difficult for the enemy to kill you (mainly at the expense of ). The position on the center line is the rarest for the Shaker, so we will not focus on it much.

A more common role for Shaker is of course the support role. At the same time, Shaker can be a lane support or, for example, be a roaming support, that is, a hero who constantly moves between lanes and looks for opportunities to gank. If you have to stand on the safe lane along with another support and protect your carry, then in this case it is desirable that Shaker not stand on the lane itself, but deal with withdrawals and leave the jungle in order to kill the enemy. This is beneficial primarily because Shaker will be able to level up faster and even get some farm and be able to buy faster. Secondly, attacks from the forest are very beneficial in that you can use very well, that is, completely block the enemy’s path to retreat. Of course, Shaker can play calmly in the lane, but all your actions will be very predictable, and because of the melee attack, you simply won’t be able to harass the enemy normally. Just above, we mentioned that Shaker can gank lanes quite well, and this is true. If the second support has good solid control and your carry in the safe lane is not having any problems, then you can start actively ganking different lanes (preferably using Smoke of Deceit). The easiest way to attack the enemy will be if the second support uses some kind of fast and reliable control (for example, a stun) and Shaker will already be more accurate in using . Under two controls, and even cutting off the path to retreat, it will not be difficult to kill the enemy. The main task is to quietly approach the enemy and prevent him from retreating to his tower.

A large number of stuns make Shaker the most valuable hero in the team, which will be relevant at all stages of the game, especially in long matches. In fact, the main task is to survive the beginning of the game, since this is the most problematic part of the game, when Shaker is severely lacking in farm and has obvious problems due to the high mana cost of using . A large amount of stuns allows Shaker not only to be a great initiator, but also makes it possible to perfectly protect his allies. In other words, Shaker is a very good defensive support.

At an early stage of the game, of course, Shaker is difficult to play. This is due to the severe lack of mana and the lack of good mobility. If you see that there are no lanes on the map where you need your help in terms of defense and in general there are no options for a good gank, then it is better to start pulling, as this is a really good opportunity for initial farming. In addition to some items to restore mana (for example or ), Shaker definitely needs mobility and in most cases the choice falls on . Thus, it becomes clear that at least some farm in the early game is extremely important for the Shaker. Don’t aim to be in every fight in the early game, especially if your allies can manage without you. It’s also important to note that having a mana regeneration item won’t solve another problem, which is max mana. In other words, you need to be sure to keep track of how much total mana you have and whether this amount is enough for a full procast of your skills. It is because of the small reserve of mana that Shaker will definitely buy something for intelligence in the future. In fact, at the beginning of the game, the main task is just to endure and farm a little. If you do everything right and do not die for nothing, then in the future the game will go in a completely different scenario and you will be a really significant figure in every battle.

If the situation develops in such a way that your allies do not need help, but there are no options for farming either, that is, there is no free lane, then in this case you can start making 2-3 stacks of creeps in the jungle and farm them with their skills. Having made for example a triple stack of a large camp of neutrals, you can even use an ult. While you don’t have a dagger ( ), you still won’t be able to use your ult normally, otherwise you will have a really good opportunity to quickly farm a pack of neutrals and get a lot of gold and experience. In addition, farming like this can significantly speed up the appearance of a dagger in your inventory and you can start playing more aggressively. As soon as you have it, you should immediately try to implement it, that is, wait for the ult to recharge (if it is on cooldown) and attack the enemy from a jump. Usually the first such attack, that is, before the enemy has yet realized that you have a dagger, is extremely effective and leads to a couple of kills.

As soon as you have the main artifacts, that is, something for mana regeneration and a dagger, you should stop spending a lot of time looking for farm and start actively participating in the life of the team. In other words, you start to move along with your team and act as an initiator or even a counter-initiator. Here it is immediately worth noting that Shaker can use two fundamentally different tactics. Firstly, you can act as a regular initiator, that is, rush into the battle first if you see that the enemies are crowded or, for example, there is an opportunity to control and quickly kill the enemy carry. Secondly, you can take a position in the fog of war (enemies do not see you) and wait for the start of the battle or the moment when the enemies again stand close to each other. As soon as you see a good moment, you just use , followed by your ult. After that, in 90% of cases, it is the ult that is used for the attack, since it has no animation delay and is applied instantly, that is, the enemies simply simply will not be able to react to such an outburst.

At a later stage of the game, the Shaker does not lose its relevance at all. If the game runs smoothly, then with each new artifact, Shaker only becomes stronger, and his bursts become more dangerous for enemies. The important thing to note here is that none of Shaker’s spells pierce BKB (Black King Bar) or any other spell immunity, and in the late game this is of course a problem. The main thing you have to remember is that you have an ult that works instantly. That is, if you jump into a crowd of enemies before they activate BKB, you can quickly stun them and calmly use all your skills. You should definitely keep an eye on what the enemies are buying, that is, it is important to know not only the presence of BKB, but also the presence of such artifacts as: and Scythe of Vyse. Both of these items are the worst enemies of the Shaker, as they deprive him of the ability to use skills for a while.

In general, learning to play Shaker is not difficult. The main thing is to learn how to use it well and choose the right moment to burst with the ult. For the rest, you will simply need standard knowledge of playing as a support and playing on the lane, since sometimes you will have to stand on it.

somehow i miss the dota 1 model but he dosent look bad either

Be aware that this guys range can be deceiving to most. Especially if aimed correctly.

Blink dagger for this guy can really come in use when chasing the enemy, especially with his multiple stuns. Makes it easy for your team to keep up.

He looks sooo much cooler than the original! And he’s awesome 🙂

Looks awesome in teamfights! Wanna play it!
