Effigies are a big part of Dota 2, but newer players may never have heard of them. The effigy system allows players to create a custom statue of a hero that appears in the base as a destructible building. Whether it’s a player’s favorite hero letting loose an ultimate or dying miserably, effigies are a way for players to express themselves. Here’s how to get some Dota 2 effigies of your own.

Effigies in Dota are all about showing off and adding the flair of humor to the otherwise intense atmosphere of the game. Along with the sly humor, you can showcase your favorite hero, your favorite voice line, or in general anything you want to write under it! It’s essentially a statue that guards the tier 4 towers in the base!

Rodrigo “LESLÃO” Santos is no longer a Soniqs player after his offensive Dota 2 effigy was revealed during a broadcast at The International 2022.

An effigy in Dota 2 is a cosmetic item that allows players to “modify the appearance of superficial buildings in the player’s base.” Players can opt for different heroes, equipment, and poses, and most importantly, write their own personalized text.

In Soniqs tiebreaker game against BOOM Esports, LESLÃO’S effigy was briefly clicked on by the observer, revealing the offensive message. The timestamped video can be found here.

Soniqs eventually lost the tiebreaker, meaning that the organization was eliminated from TI11.

Once you’ve equipped your new effigy of choice, you should now see a small structure in your base replaced with your new custom statue. It functions the exact same as the normal building, with equal health and stats. Other players can commend effigies that they find cool, stylish, or funny. Commendations are tracked for everyone to see, so try to create a statue that stands out from the crowd.

Sometimes a live event can shine some light on aspects of a game, player, or team that wouldn’t have been discovered in any other situation. In the case of The International 2022, one observer revealed a racial slur during one of Soniqs’ final games of the Dota 2 event’s group stage.

As Soniqs were fighting to keep their TI11 hopes alive against BOOM Esports in a tiebreaker match, an observer hovered over a Heroic Effigy of Triumph in Rodrigo “LESLÃO” Santos’ inventory by happenstance. Effigy items can be crafted and customized to include poses and inscriptions of the player’s choice, and this specific Effigy included a very direct racial slut.

The inscription blatantly shows that LESLÃO created it and features the term “run nigga” on its viewable plate. This was quickly spread around social media despite it only being on screen for just over a second.

“The message on my effigy was just brought into focus. It’s clearly inappropriate and hurtful, and I apologize for ever writing it,” LESLÃO said. “I had carelessly written it many years ago and then forgotten about it, and I’m deeply sorry for both doing so and not checking/removing it earlier.”

That is the only response anyone involved with the team has given regarding the situation, but the community has pointed out that this is not the first time a situation like this has happened this season.

Jumping back to the regional qualifiers in September, Infamous midlaner Leonardo “Leostyle-” Sifuentes was seen with a Courier wearing a name tag that said “Nymun – The Nigga.” This resulted in Infamous being penalized during the grand finals of the qualifier, where they went on to lose 0-3 to Hokori.

With their elimination from TI11, the 2022 season is now over for Soniqs and it is likely the team will go through some form of roster shuffle. LESLÃO only rejoined the team when it was still Quincy Crew back in May and, with the timing of this situation, Soniqs might just decide to part ways with the Brazillian player earlier than expected.

Update Oct. 18 11:43pm CT: Soniqs have provided a statement on the situation with LESLÃO and the racially insensitive message, noting the organization has a zero-tolerance approach toward all kinds of discrimination and the player’s contract has been terminated.

“At the conclusion of our TI11 match versus BOOM Esports, there was a racist message visible in-game from Rodrigo “LESLÃO” Santos,” Soniqs said.

“We hold our players to a high standard of professionalism and have a zero-tolerance policy towards racism or discrimination of any kind. Effective immediately, we have released LESLÃO from his contract at Soniqs.”

Для этого вам нужно лишь пополнить баланс Steam минимум на 6 рублей (минимальная цена блока создания статуй).

Процесс создания статуи

Если у вас есть все необходимые предметы для статуи, то вы можете приступить к её созданию. Для этого вам понадобится:

• Перейти в собственный инвентарь в игре.
• Открыть раздел «».
• Выбрать блок для создания статуи, нажать ПКМ, а затем «Выбрать».
• Выбрать героя, из которого вы хотите создать собственную статую.
• Одеть персонажа в доступные вам скины.
• Выбрать любую из предложенных анимаций.
• Выбрать кадр анимации.
• Дать название своей статуи.
• Нажать на кнопку «».

Таким образом, всего за пару минут можно создать собственную статую. Далее, она сразу же появится в вашем инвентаре и её можно будет использовать.

Как выбрать статую в Dota 2

Все созданные вами статуи отображаются в вашем инвентаре. Оттуда можно выбрать любую статую и ознакомиться с её описанием, а также количеством полученных лайков. Выбрать же подходящую статую и поставить её в игре можно следующим образом:

• Перейдите в инвентарь.
• Откройте вкладку «».
• Выберите нужную вам статую.
• Нажмите ПКМ и выберите «».

После этого, выбранная вами статуя будет всегда появляться на вашей базе во время любых игр. Также, отметим, что если у вас имеется сразу несколько статуй, то можно настроить их рандомное появление. Для этого нужно будет лишь выбрать строку «Включить случайный выбор». В таком случае, в каждой игре будет появляться одна из статуй, хранящихся в вашем инвентаре.

Разновидности статуй

Каждая статуя в Dota 2 является уникальной, так как для её создания игроки используют различные анимации и выбирают разных героев. Кроме того, стоит отметить, что статуи могут отличаться и своим внешним видом, который будет напрямую зависеть от выбранного блока. Soniqs has “zero-tolerance policy towards racism or discrimination,” removes LESLÃO from roster

North American organization Soniqs released a statement today confirming that the offlaner will officially be let go from its Dota 2 roster.

“We hold our players to a high standard of professionalism and have a zero-tolerance policy towards racism or discrimination of any kind,” Soniqs wrote. “Effective immediately, we have released LESLAO from his contract at the Soniqs.”

This is LESLÃO’s second stint with Quincy Crew, which was picked up by Soniqs in August this year.

The 25-year-old had immediately apologized for the offending effigy after the broadcast, before the termination of his Soniqs contract was made clear.
