- Outworld Destroyer was originally called «Obsidian Destroyer» in DotA. Obsidian Destroyer was based on two units in «Warcraft III: Frozen Throne»; the Obsidian Statue, and its alternate form, the Destroyer.
- Outworld Destroyer was originally added to Dota 2 with his current name, but was changed to «Outworld Demolisher» before the patch left the Test Client. However, due to community outcry, it was changed to «Outworld Devourer» as he arrived on the Main Client. This name was used up until 7.28, where it was changed again to the original Dota 2 iteration of «Outworld Destroyer».
- Due to the many name changes Outworld Destroyer went through, he gained many humorous community names such as «Outworld Developer», «Outsourced Developer» and «Outhouse Decorator».
- As a nod to this, the in-game info box for Outworld Destroyer’s innate ability displays a different ability name each time it is shown in the Loadout screen. Possible names include «Obnoxious Determinator», «Obsequious Deliberator», «Ornery Deconstructor», and «Omniscient Desiderator».
- Outworld Destroyer has lines for carrying two, three or even four . The reason for this is because in Dota 1 early development Aghanim’s Scepter was made using and giving 500 mana and 30 , which helped Outworld Destroyer tremendously.

Strategy
Use Astral Imprisonment on the enemy hero to prevent them from last hitting or denying creeps, especially the ranged creep.
After using Astral Imprisonment, the opponents might go on you, so be careful.
Remember to activate Black King Bar in fights, especially before enemies are able to disable you at the start of fights.
Arcane Orb works on Roshan. So you can take it early with an ally tanking for you.
Counter Strategy
Look out for the amount of mana lost from multiple Astral Imprisonment usages. Outworld Destroyer can nuke you with his ultimate if there is a big mana pool difference.
Focus Outworld Destroyer in the fights as he provides saves for his team with Astral Imprisonment.
Mana pool increasing items are great against OD’s Sanity’s Eclipse.
Spell immunity items are great against Outworld Destroyer.
Heaven’s Halberd is great at disabling Outworld Destroyer from using Arcane Orb.
