Yellow Submarine is a Russian Dota 2 team that was initially formed to compete in The International 2015 European Open Qualifiers. The team lacked stability, shuffling through many players throughout 2015 and 2016, and eventually became defunct in 2017.
In 2020, the team was rebuilt from scratch, with several trialists taking part. Eventually, the roster began to take shape, and after several promising performances, was signed by Team Spirit later that year. Four of the five — Yatoro, TORONTOTOKYO, Collapse and Miposhka — would go on to win The International 2021, and Yatoro, Collapse and Miposhka would also win The International 2023.
The roster was then rebuilt once again in 2023, featuring 15-year-old Russian prodigy Satanic.

Yellow Submarine first entered the scene in early-2015, featuring Miposhka, Barash, Dale, PSM and Fervian. Throughout 2015 and 2016, the team was a regular in smaller tournaments, but success was rare, and the team ended up shuffling frequently. By 2017, the roster was as good as defunct.
Foundations of Team Spirit
In 2020, Yellow Submarine was rebuilt ahead of the OMEGA League: East Europe Qualifiers, featuring Yatoro, Nattynarwhal, Ninja Cat, kaori and Kidaro. The roster continued to shuffle, adding mio (later renaming himself TORONTOTOKYO), Collapse and so bad. Yellow Submarine continued to try out multiple hard supports in addition to Kidaro, and eventually settled on Miposhka, returning to the team five years on. This squad began to show signs of promise, qualifying for ESL One Germany 2020 and finishing 3rd-4th at DOTA Summit 13 Online: Europe and CIS.
In December 2020, the promising roster was signed by Team Spirit. Under this larger organisation, four of the five — Yatoro, TORONTOTOKYO, Collapse and Miposhka — would go on to win The International 2021. TORONTOTOKYO then departed for BetBoom Team, but the remaining roster stuck together, and won The International 2023.

Alexander Hertek, now known as TORONTOTOKYO, became popular on the Dota 2 scene when the team assembled by Dmitry Korb3n Belov signed with Yellow Submarine.
Previously, CIS-Dota fans did not know about this center liner, as he passed their attention when changing his nickname in the new career stage. Previously, he was known on matchmaking as Temel, and participated in tournaments under the name mio.
Before becoming the first player in Yellow Submarine, TORONTOTOKYO often played on various teams in the first and second positions, and participated in the Yolo Knight, Family Team, and 5dog mixes. He began his active career as a pro player in 2019, but his first documented tournament participation was back in 2015.
Team TORONTOTOKYO was able to start at WePlay AniMajor from the group stage and reach the lower grid, where it successfully made it through one round, knocking out Alliance, but lost to Vici Gaming and left the tournament. Its biggest achievement was reaching The International 10 after completing regional qualification, where they defeated Team Empire in the final. At the tournament itself, Team Spirit triumphed in the grand final against LGD Gaming and became The International 10 champions. After that, Alexander had a few more big wins with TS, such as 2nd place at Riyadh Masters 2022 and 1st place at PGL Arlington Major 2022. At the end of 2022, TORONTOTOKYO signs with BetBoom Team.
Together with BB he achieved good results: 2nd place at DreamLeague Season 20, 3rd place at DreamLeague Season 21. And also together with him the team took 5th-6th place at The International 2023 and 4th place at ESL One: Kuala Lumpur 2023.
In 2024, TORONTOTOKYO with BetBoom Team placed 2nd at DreamLeague Season 22 and ESl One Birmingham 2024, 3rd at Betboom Dacha Dubai 2024, 12th at Elite League 2024, 10th at PGL Wallachia Season 1 and 3rd at DreamLeague Season 23.
ESL One Germany 2020.
